Sunil reviews progress of developmental activities

KISHTWAR, May 15: Minister of State for PWD (R&B) and Revenue Sunil Sharma today convened a meeting of District and Sector Officers to discuss the progress and remove the bottlenecks that are hampering the pace of the developmental activities in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd. Javed Khan and SSP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas, besides ADC Kishtwar, ADDC Kishtwar, ACR Kishtwar, ACD Kishtwar, CPO Kishtwar, Executive Engineer PHE Division and PDD Division, SDMs , Tehsildars, and other senior officers of district administration attended the meeting.
Mr. Sharma while speaking on the occasion said that the Coalition Government is making all out efforts to make changes visible on ground.
He enjoined upon the officers to adopt innovative approach and work for the welfare of the masses.
The Minister sensing the gravity of the issue of shortage of drinking water in the Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas, directed Executive Engineer PHE Division Kishtwar to redouble the pace of shifting of lift water supply scheme and also said that an additional lift is also being installed which will give a much desired relief to the people of the district. He further said that against a demand of about 20 lakh gallons drinking water, Only about 11 lakh gallons of drinking water is available for the supply to the people.
The Minister also directed Block Medical Officers of the district to ensure punctuality of doctors and para-medical staff in health care institutions of their respective jurisdictions.
Mr. Sharma while reviewing the opening of blocked roads in the district said that Kishtwar-Sinthan-Inshan- Marwah road is required to be opened within shortest possible time. It was revealed that the road from Kishtwar to Sinthan Top has been cleared by the PWD (R&B) dvision Kishtwar while as the stretch from Sinthan Top to Vailoo which is lying with the GREF is still blocked with snow and landslides. Minister directed CO GREF to ensure early restoration of the road connectivity.
Minister also expressed concern over the encroachment of Government land in the Kishtwar town and directed ACR Kishtwar to take immediate and necessary steps and dismantle/ retrieve all the encroached Government land.
