Subsidized heli services started for remote areas

SRINAGAR, Sept 22: In order to ensure hassle-free journey of locals from snow bound and cut-off areas of Kashmir division including Leh & Kargil, Divisional Commissioner Kash-mir Baseer Ahmad Khan today announced the start of subsidized helicopter services on routes such as Srinagar-Machil-Tanghdar, Kupwara-Machil-Tanghdar, Srinagar-Kargil, Srinagar-Drass, Srinagar-Leh, Leh-Lingshed-Neerak, Leh-Nobra (Thoise), Srinagar-Bandipora, Srinagar-Gurez, Bandipora-Gurez and return to take-off destinations.
These sorties will take off from Srinagar airport at 9:30 am daily, except Sunday. Div Com also nominated Liaison Officers with their jurisdiction along with the location to liaise with Pawan Hans Limited helicopter service operator. These officers are Additional Deputy Commissioners of Kupwara, Leh & Kargil and Sub Divisional Magistrates of Karnah & Drass.
Div Com said these officers will issue tickets as per the subsidized rates to the intending passengers from their offices on the scheduled flight dates. The TRC Srinagar has been designated as the ticket counter in the capital city.
