Strengthen democracy

Sir,
As the elections both of Parliament and Assembly are nearing in the State, the political scenario of the State has started warming. The mainstream political parties have now decided to fight elections although they boycotted Municipal and Panchayat elections of the State. Braving threats people participated in large numbers and have as much endorsed their faith in the democratic institution of the country. Now in the approaching elections people will participate whole heartedly. This time people have to judge and support the candidate who keeps clean history sheet in the public domain. There are some political stalwarts who score their personal interests at the cost of voters while befooling them. These people have amassed wealth and properties worth millions and more. The politics of deception has damaged the State tremendously. There are some political figures who say something in Kashmir and narrate different language in Delhi. They also do not hesitate to communalise the situation while seeking votes. Kashmir centric politicians when in power demonstrate patriotism to the core and when out of power they toe the line of anti-national forces for personal gain. The politics of duplicity and opportunism has to go now and people of the State know the gimmicks of such politicians and will no longer fall in their trap. Indian democracy is deeply rooted and as such the need of the hour is to strengthen this democracy in the State for the development of the states three divisions equally.
