SRINAGAR, Nov 25: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Tahir Saleem, today visited Hari Singh High Street for an on spot assessment of the parking areas.
Tahir Saleem was accompanied by Nasir Hamid Khan, senior vice president, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry. After touring the parking areas, the SSP expressed satisfaction that the road was wide enough to recommend single lane paid parking on its both sides.
“The area being an important point of the Central Business District, adequate provisions for the parking of customers is a basic utility to be provided for by the Government”, he said interacting with the traders.
Usman Fazl of Traders’ Association also brought the issue of the reported allotment of parking area of owners of the shops and business establishments to street vendors without making any alternative parking available to them.
Tahir Saleem assured the KCCI and Traders’ Association that the issues raised would be strongly recommended to the Government for immediate redressal.
