Soybean futures rise on global cues

NEW DELHI, June 30: Soybean prices firmed up by Rs 29 to Rs 2,916 per quintal in futures trading today as traders raised their bets, taking positive cues from overseas markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean to be delivered in far-month August spurted by Rs 29 or 1.00 per cent to Rs 2,916 per quintal, having an open interest of 49,900 lots.
Soybean for delivery in July contracts also traded higher by Rs 27 or 0.96 per cent to Rs 2,849 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 73,950 lots.
Marketmen said widening of positions by participants, driven by position global cues mainly supported the upside in soybean prices in futures trade here. (PTI)
