JAMMU, Jan 21: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Kartar Singh has acquitted Kundan Lal, son of Sham Dass of Purana Pind R S Pura, who was facing trial in murder of his father Sham Dass as prosecution miserably failed to prove the case.
According to the police case, on April 22, 2011 Kundal Lal strangulated to death his father Sham Dass over a property dispute. Accordingly, a case was registered against him and after completion of investigation challan was presented in the court of law.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu observed, “the prosecution has examined 29 witnesses in this case but it is strange that not even a single witness has supported its story”.
“All of them have categorically stated that they do not know anything about the occurrence. There is no incriminating material on record whereby it can be concluded that it was the accused who had committed the murder of the deceased”, the court said, adding “there is not even an iota of incriminating evidence against the accused”.
With these observations, court acquitted the accused of the charges leveled against him.
