RAJOURI, May 29: A soldier was injured when his service rifle went-off accidently in Nowshera area of district Rajouri last night.
Defence sources said that Sepoy K. Thappa from Gorkha Regiment deployed in a forward location in Laam area of Nowshera sector accidently slipped on a drifted land mine late last evening during patrolling. He sustained serious injuries on his right foot and leg.
The injured was immediately shifted to nearby Unit hospital and then referred to Military Hospital Rajouri. His condition was later said to be stable.
