KATRA, Sept 29: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Technology Business Incubation Center Society (SMVDU-TBIC) conducted the fourth round of preliminary screening of Ideas submitted by potential entrepreneurs on their website www.smvdutbic.org.
The expert committee for this preliminary screening was comprised of all the Academic Departmental Heads of SMVDU under the chairmanship of Dr Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor and chairperson of the Governing Council and Managing committee of SMVDU-TBIC. In addition, the committee also screened the presentations of shortlisted candidates for “SMVDU-TBIC Innovation challenge”.
“Eco Shoes” by Abhishek Kumar, Kumar Vaibhav and Anurag Kr Gupta”, bagged first prize while ; “In House Gizmo” by Vaibhav Sawhney and Rajan Mahajan got second and “E-Commerce targeting Tier 3 & 4 cities” by M. Rohit Reddy, won the third prize. “Waste to Power by Chaitanya” was given the consolation prize.
For the benefit of all in the state, SMVDU-TBIC has kept its online application portal open 24×7 for preliminary applications and every month preliminary screening is done. Techno-preneurs from all across the State can participate and for any enquiries may contact SMVDU-TBIC.
So far, around 40 ideas from different regions of the State have been submitted and screened. SMVDU-Technology Business Incubation Center Society (SMVDU TBIC) is established at SMVDU with the Grant-in-aid jointly from NSTEDB, DST, MoST, Government of India with an objective to identify potential innovative Technology based ideas and facilitate these into independent self-sustaining businesses. The incubator in addition to providing mentorship is also facilitating financial assistance to the incubatees. SMVDU-TBIC can also be reached online, through their website, by Startups for recommendation letters to avail benefits under Startup India Initiative of Government of India.
