Six-day Kahani Workshop concludes

JAMMU, Nov 17: As a joint venture of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) and Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, a 6-day Kahani Workshop concluded here today at KL Saigal Hall.
Devendra Devesh, OSD, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, was the chief guest while Chhattar Pal, noted short story writer and president, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, presided over the valedictory function.
Prof Lalit Mangotra, convenor, Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, eminent Dogri short story writer and poet, Yogita Yadav and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, additional secretary, JKAACL were also present in the presidium.
While addressing the gathering, Chhattarpal described the workshop a great success and complimented all the participants who not only participated but also actively involved throughout the event and created more than 30 short stories as an outcome of the workshop.
Devendra Devesh expressed his satisfaction over the successful conduct of the workshop and complimented all the participants for their active participation which resulted to a great achievement. He also assured such more workshops in future and informed that Sahitya Akademi will also think over to bring out a publication on the short stories developed by the participants in this workshop.
Prof Lalit Mangotra, who was also the Director of this workshop, in his valedictory address, said that the participants succeeded in making the workshop a memorable one because of creation of more than 25 new short story writers and creation of more than 30 short stories being written during the workshop by the participants in Dogri, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi.
Earlier, in the morning session Yogita Yadav, nationally acclaimed Hindi short story writer and poet presented her Hindi short story ‘Naagpaash’ and Prof MK Waqar, prominent Gojri short story writer presented his Gojri short story Do ‘Daran Ki Kutti,’. Prof Lalit Mangotra also presented some of the world class selected short stories.
