Singh Club seals berth in finals of 1st Road Safety C’ship

JAMMU, Jan 12: Thrashing Vishal Cricket Club by 8 wickets in the semifinal, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing 1st Road Safety T20 Cricket Championship, being jointly organized by Road Safety Department and District Police Jammu under the patronage of Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister for Transport at Parade ground, here.
SSP RK Bhat and Rajesh Gill are the coordinators of the event.
Earlier, batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored a modest total of 113 runs in 19.2 overs. Umar Nisar top scored with 41 runs, while Abhinav Puri and Farooq contributed 15 and 13 runs resepctively. From Singh CC, Veedu took 4 wickets,  while Sunil claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club chased the target in 12 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Amir was the top scorer with 42 runs, while Sumit and Chandan contributed 29 and 25 runs to the total respectively. From Vishal Club, Rajesh Gill and Abhinav Puri claimed 1 wicket each. Veedu was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Ashok, Sanju and Vinod, while RP Singh conducted the proceedings of the post match function.
Road Safety XI will take on Strikers Cricket Club at 1 pm tomorrow.
