Shopkeepers protest over dilapidated condition of new bus stand

UDHAMPUR, July 10: The shopkeepers of new bus stand held protest against district administration and municipal committee demanding basic amenities.
During the protest, the shopkeepers raised slogans against the district administration and municipal committee demanding basic facilities at new bus stand Udhampur.
The protesting shopkeepers alleged that new bus stand is in dilapidated condition. They said that the road is in worst condition, adding that the basic amenities including water facility and lightning system needs to be upgraded.
One of the protester namely Kartar Singh said that due to creation of buses and mini-buses stands illegally in the district, the people witness huge traffic jams. He stated that the new bus stand has been totally ignored due to which the shopkeepers face manifold problems especially during the ongoing monsoon season.
He said that lot of funds have been released for this new bus stand and needs official inquiry.
