JAMMU, May 18: Senior IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, Shantmanu was today given additional charge of Development Commissioner, Handlooms under the Union Textiles Ministry by the Government of India.
Shantmanu, a former Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir, had recently been appointed as the Development Commissioner, Handicrafts of the entire country, with headquarters at New Delhi under the Union Textiles Ministry, headed by Smriti Irani.
Today, he was assigned additional charge of prestigious Development Commissioner, Handlooms, official sources said, adding he has now been designated as the Development Commissioner Handicrafts and Handlooms in the entire country.
Shantmanu had recently proceeded on the Central deputation after serving in Jammu and Kashmir as the CEO, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and Commissioner/Secretary Health and Medical Education among other posts.
