Scrap Article 370: Indresh

NEW DELHI, Aug 19:
Senior RSS leader and Forum for Integrated National Security (FINS) founder Indresh Kumar today dubbed the Article 370, guaranteeing special status to J&K, as cruel joke on democracy, and demanded a serious debate for scrapping of it while immediate deletion of some provisions.    Speaking at a function on the issue here, Mr Indresh Kumar said the abrogation of the special status to the region was must as it is anti-India.
Taking strong exception to anti-India slogans in the Kashmir valley, Mr Indresh said elements with vested interests were trying to blackmail the Government at the Centre for decades and made it clear that ‘for them it is the question of land, for every Indian, it is the question of motherland and those who want to remain in the Valley should be guided with principle that there would be no compromise on Kashmir.’
He said the debate should be carried across the country whether the Article had lent strength to anti-India forces or it had served any purpose for the nation. He said there was no logic of having a different constitution, nationality and flag for the J&K and said it was the country’s bane and one of the key stumbling blocks in fostering the national unity.
FINS President former Air Marshal Dr RC Bajpai and former High Court Judge VK Gupta were among those spoke on the occasion and sought abolition of the Article which guarantees special status to the J&K.  (UNI)
