Sanskrit scholars apprise Minister of issues, demands

JAMMU, Jan 9: A delegation of Sanskrit scholars today met Minister of State Ajay Nanda at Civil Secretariat Jammu and discussed with him the hardships being faced by them,
The delegation, led by president of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust,   Mahant Rohit Shastri   regarding various issues related to Sanskrit language and hardship being faced by Sanskrit scholars in perusing their further studies in Sanskrit language.
Mahant Rohit Shastri demanded introduction of Sankrit as compulsory subject from class 6th onwards, setting up a Sanskrit University in Kashmir valley, etc.
Mahant Rohit Shastri urged the minister to raise these issues and demands in the House during ongoing session of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
On the occasion, Mahant Rohit Shastri also presented a Ragvendra Panchang to the Minister
The delegation comprised of Pawan Khajuria, Goutam Shastri and other Sanskrit Scholars.
