Safai Karamcharis threaten to continue strike

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 20: Civic Safai Karamcharis’ Union, Jammu Municipal Corporation today threatened the Government to continue its strike from April 7 if the demands of the Safai Karamcharis are not met within the stipulated time.
The issue was discussed threadbare by the members of the union during a meeting held here today under the leadership of their president, Rinku Gill.
The union said that they (Safai Karamcharis) suspended their ‘Kaam Chorho Hartal’ on March 18 on the verbal assurance of the DC Jammu, JMC Commissioner and DIG of J&K police but if our demands are not fulfilled by April 6, we will left with no option except to continue their strike from April 6.
While addressing the meeting, Rinku Gill asked the co-workers not to listen to the false propaganda of the bad elements who were hell bent to disturb their peaceful agitation.
