JAMMU, Feb 24: Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena (RSS) held a demonstration here today in protest against the Government for posting ineligible doctors as Medical Superintendents in various hospitals of the State.
The protest was led by senior leaders of RSS including Vipin Hindu, Ashwani Gupta and Rakesh Kak.
While addressing the demonstrators Rakesh Kak said that Ministers and bureaucrats have posted their blue eyed boys as the Medical Superintendents by throwing all rules to winds. These doctors are not possessing required qualifications to hold the posts, he added.
He demanded a probe as to how these doctors have been appointed as Medical Superintendents while the eligible doctors possessing required qualification and experience have been ignored as they have no political backing or links in administration.
Vipin Hindu said that a Deputy Medical Superintendent who was earlier divested of the post on the ground that his degree in Hospital Administration was not recognized by Medical Council of India has now been promoted as Medical Superintendent of the same hospital.
Ashwani Gupta while speaking urged the Government to replace these doctors immediately. He also urged the Chief Minister to look into the matter as some people are being given undue advantage by his Government at the cost of deserving doctors. He also demanded that the degrees of these doctors should be verified and those who possess fake certificates should be dealt under law.
Other RSS leaders who addressed the demonstration included Kuldeep Luthra, Vikas Dewan, Ravi Verma, Rajinder Gupta, Ch. Nath Pal, Puran Singh, Ashwani Gandotra, Dushant Basur, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Dutta etc.
