Royals and Ruins

Sir,
Refer to Aruditya Jasrotia’s article DE March 19, 2017 published in Sunday Magazine. The writer has excellently described the glorious past of the capital city  Jasrota which is a major identity centre of a powerful Rajput clan called Jasrotia Rajputs. It was the duty of all of us to develop this historic spot which was in good shape some fifty years ago, but nothing has been done to save this important connecting link of history. Every year the demand is projected for development of Jasrota Fort Complex etc, before the Govt and each time prompt action is assured.
Not to speak of outside tourists, even the locals of Jammu in majority are unaware of splendour of Jasrota,  Purmandal, Utter-Behni and Chenani Forts.
The Ramnagar Palaces and ancient temples of Krimchi have also not received sufficient publicity from the Governments of the past.
Now, the present State Govt especially the Ministry of Tourism and Forests etc have shown great interest to promote historical and pilgrimage related tourism in the State. The PMO’s office is kind enough to get sanctioned many such projects like Devika and Mantalai Development plans from Govt of India.
It is requested to the State Govt to prepare a detailed plan for development of Jasrota, Utter-Behni, Purmandal, Kotli Fort (Udhampur) and Jaganoo Fort etc and request the Central Government  for funding and execution through some central agency.
Yours etc…
Rajinder Chand Anthal
Chenani, Udhampur
