JAMMU, Jan 25: Voluntarily retired employees of J&K State Road Corporation have strongly criticised the management of Corporation for not clearing pending arrears of the VRS/GHS employees.
In a meeting of All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association held here today under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Bali, the members expressed strong resentment over the attitude of management of the SRTC. They pointed out that SRTC has failed o clear the pending arrears of the VRS given workers who are struggling for the last three years.
They pointed out that the promise made by the management during their VRS to clear arrears within 60 days was never fulfilled. The retirees have been forced to come out on the roads to protest and demand their hard earned money. Total 126 slabs of COLA are pending with the Government moreover, the benefits of the 6th Pay Commission have been denied to these over 7000 workers.
It was resolved in the meeting to hold protest demonstration by the VRS/GHS workers of the Corporation on January 28 at Press Club, followed by a rally towards Civil Secretariat at 10 am onwards. Mr Bali issued appeal to all the workers to join this rally.
