JAMMU, Sept 10: Deman-ding black topping of Thathi to Sundrani road, the residents of Charyai village held protest today.
The protesting people raised slogans against district administration and Public Works Department (PWD) Udhampur.
They alleged that Thathi to Sundrani road is in worst condition for the past several years, but PWD is paying any heed towards it. This road connects with Katra and despite repeated requests to the PWD, nothing has been done till today.
Due to dilapidated condition of the road, a school bus rolled down resulting into injuries to the students.
The villagers also stopped the cavalcade of Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Labour and Employment, Ajay Nanada, who assured the protesting people that the work will start as soon as possible.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed.
