Release 7% DA in favour of employees, pensioners: NMC

JAMMU, Mar 14: Stressing the need for release of 7% DA installment due from July last year, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the State Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Darbu  to take immediate call for release the same in favor of the employees of the State Govt on the pattern of  Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
Talking to media persons here today, Shastri pointed out that since the State Govt  has already committed by announcement by the State Finance Minister  during presentations of next year state budget to implement  the 7th Pay Commission  recommendations with effect from  April 1, 2017 to the employees of the State Govt and pensioners.
“By virtue of this decision, salaried class and pensioners have to practically wait for  another one year, in the  inflationary situation, there is absolute need to provide financial support in the shape of dearness  allowance installment, so that these classes could heave a sigh of relief,” Shastri added.
The NMC leader  expressed concern over the plight of 61,000  daily rated workers, who are facing  lot of problems, he  hoped that Mehbooba Mufti led coalition Govt who  has done commendable  job in solving the problems  and hardships of  the poor and trodden classes   of  the society, will  look in to the matter to prepare a compressive policy at the earliest ,so that  the benefit start reaching  to them from May Ist , 2017 as May day gift  to working class.
Shastri also demanded  an early issuance of notification regarding implementation of the 7th Pay Commission  recommendations, creation of  separate wage head for un interrupted  release of monthly wages, enhancing Medical allowance to rupees three thousand per month, removing  of  all pay anomalies of clerical cadre under SRO 93 and  enhancing  of the wages of daily rated workers  to  Rs 350  per day on the pattern of Central Govt.
