Re-polling in one station of West

JAMMU, Dec 21: Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered re-polling at one of the polling stations in Jammu district tomorrow after a technical snag was detected in one of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the fifth and last phase polling here.
“Due to occurrence of technical snag in EVM Machine of polling stations number 147 at Sanatan Dharam Sabha Higher Secondary School, Rehari, falling in Jammu West Assembly Constituency yesterday in the fifth and last phase Polling, the re-polling has been ordered by the Election Commission authorities”, an official here today said.
“One of the candidates also demanded re-polling after it came to limelight that the bogus votes cast during testing the EVMs could not be deleted due to technical snag”, he added.
A total of 1061 electorates will cast their vote in this re-polling, which will take place tomorrow from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs, he added.
