Protesters lock Principal’s office

JAMMU, Dec 15: Even as the Government has ordered a magisterial probe into the death of an infant due to alleged negligence of doctors in SMGS Hospital on Thursday, activists of different social organizations continued their protest seeking immediate removal of Dr Aniece Choudhary as Principal of Government Medical College Jammu.
The protesters today locked  office chamber of the Principal  at GMC after they found him absent from his chair. They raised slogans against Dr Aniece Choudhary holding him responsible for death of the infant and demanding his immediate removal.
The protesters included the activists of Hindu Shiv Sena and Kranti Dal. Later, they also called on Additional DC Ravi Sharma and submitted him a memorandum seeking early  action against Dr Aniece Choudhary, who was allegedly responsible for the death of infant.
The protesters had yesterday gheroed Dr Aniece Choudhary at his office chamber accusing him of  alleged mess in GMC and associated hospitals.
Meanwhile, talking to the Excelsior, ADC Ravi Sharma said that the magisterial inquiry into the circumstances leading to death of  infant at SMGS Hospital on Thursday  will begin  from Monday and it may take around a month to complete the probe for submitting report.
As reported, the Government had ordered a magisterial probe into the alleged negligence  of doctors into the death of an infant, who was admitted in SMGS Hospital while parents of the deceased blamed Dr Aniece Choudhary for delay in operating the patient who was also examined in his private clinic.
Only yesterday,  Secretary Health and Medical Education Manoj Kumar Divedi had sought explanation of Dr Aniece Choudhary for continuing private practice against standing orders of  Government against the same.
