Protest rally taken out

KATHUA, Dec 4: Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha took out a protest rally and demanded complete ban on the screening of the film “Padmawati” in J&K.
Large number of people led by Narayan Singh President Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha J&K participated in the protest. The protesters alleged that while producing the film, the producer has distorted the history of “Maharani Padmawati” which is not based on facts and no longer tolerated by the commoner and Rajputs in particular.
The protesters said that the contents of the feature film as per reports in media are likely to hurt the sentiments of Rajput community and may cause potential threats to peace and tranquillity in the J&K, as such imposition of ban on the screening of film is need of the hour.
The protest rally was started from Sabha Bhawan Kathua and culminated at Deputy Commissioner Office Kathua, where a memorandum was presented to Rohit Khajuria, Deputy Commissioner Kathua by Narayan Singh along with prominent biradari members.
Among others present were Kartar Singh Jasrotia, District President Rajput Sabha Kathua, Vice-President Ravinder Slathia, Youth President Pawan Chib, Baklesh Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Jatinder Singh alias Pappu, Rohit Jasrotia, Vikram Singh and Ajay Singh.
