POONCH, Nov 8: The people from Gohlad Rellan area of Mendhar today held protest demonstration at Sub Divisional headquarters against the PHE authorities for the alleged failure of water supply to the area for the last about one month.
The villagers from the area in large number came to the Mendhar town and sat on protest dharna at Shahidi Yadgar near Main Market at around 11 AM. They were shouting slogans against the local PHE authorities and Sub Divisional Administration. The villagers alleged that water supply to the village has been snapped due to breakage of pipes while field staff claims that motor of the pumping station has gone out of order. With this the people are suffering badly.
Later, ata round 1 PM they moved to the office of SDM Mendhar where they submitted a memorandum. Both SDM and Tehsildar were not available in the office and they handed over the same to another officer there. Then one of the elderly villagers talked to SDM on phone and sought his intervention. He gave assurance to solve the issue.
