SRINAGAR, Sept 4: The inhabitants of Kawoosa-Khalisa villages would get drinking water supply from newly constructed Magam-Narbal Water Supply Scheme (WSS) shortly.
This was stated by the Minister for Public Health Engineerg (PHE), Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Sukhnandan Kumar Choudhary while addressing a largely attended public gathering at Kawoosa.
MP Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Legislators Muhammad Abbas Wani and Saif-u-din Bhat and Ex-MLA Beerwa Dr. Shafi Muhammad were also present on the occasion.
The Minister said that as a result of wrong policies of the previous regime a number of such areas of the state have remained ignored and deprived even of basic amenities. ” Long pending demand of the people of villages Kawoosa-Khalisa for better drinking water facilities that has remained unheard by the previous Governments, has today been fulfilled by the present dispensation”, the Minister said.
The Minister said that concerned engineers have been instructed to lay a pipeline from the source to the village at the earliest so that the people of the area do not have to face any further scarcity of drinking water.
The Minister said that the Coalition Government is giving focussed attention to improvement and upgradation of public infrastructure under core sectors. “The Government during last six months has taken numerous reformative and people friendly initiatives to revamp the process for overall development in the State”, he said and added that comprehensive plans have been formulated by the State Government and approved by the Centre for allocation of funds to push forward various public utility projects across the state.
Mr. Sukhnandan said “our aim is to transform the socio-economic condition of the people in the State through various developmental initiatives and welfare schemes”. He asked the people to come forward and avail maximum benefit of such schemes.
