Prem Nath Bhat Trust announces Annual Amateur Journalist Awards

JAMMU, Oct 15: Prem Nath Bhatt Memorial Trust Amateur Journalist Awards Committee held a meeting of its collegium to finalise this years awardees from a select list of Amateur journalists.
The two persons shortlisted for the prestigious annual award were selected from a short list of illustrious amateur journalists. The first candidate for this years award is Brig. (retd)Anil Gupta, who has been writing very regularly in local and national dailies and has created a niche for himself by writing about the nationalist causes, the affairs of the J&K State and also on the strategic national and defence issues.
The second candidate selected for the prestigious award is Prof G.K.Mujju who has been writing very regularly for the local and national journals and is also publishing a news paper by the name of Voice of Silence and contributing to the cause of fearless journalism in the State.
The Awards Committee Panel that selected the awardees constituted of K.N. Pandita, Dr.K.L. Chowdhry, Avtar Bhatt, Pradeep Khodbali, Kashmiri Lal Bhatt, Sundri Lal Koul and Virender Raina.
The Amateur Journalist Award instituted in the name of Pt.Prem Nath Bhatt who besides being a leading lawyer was an amateur journalist himself, is given every year to two outstanding amateur journalists. Over the years many illustrious amateur journalists have been conferred with the award and who have gone on to contribute immensely to the cause of free fair and fearless journalism in the State.
