Political leaders, traders, others term banning of Rs 500, Rs 1000 currency notes a bold decision

JAMMU, Nov 9: The decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban the currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 from midnight yesterday has been widely appreciated by political parties, CII, trade unionists etc.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh welcomed the decision of the Central Government to withdraw currency denominations of 500 and 1000 maintaining that the step would go a long way in eradication of money laundering and corruption.
While describing the step as a historic, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several measures to end the menace of corruption. He said that corruption is the scrooge which is eating into the vitals of the country thereby hampering its overall development. The historical initiative should be welcomed by one and all, he added.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister informed that he has already taken up the issue of inconvenience being faced by certain traders at toll posts with the State Finance Minister. He said the remedial measures in this regard would be soon taken.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga also lauded the Prime Minister’s decision of rolling the 500, 1,000 currency notes out of the Indian economy with subsequent replacements.
Speaking on the grave issue of corruption and its acceptance as a socio-economic norm in the day to day activities, the Minister said, ”this abrupt swapping of currency notes is indeed a surgical strike on corruption which has targeted the hoarded black money with absolute precision”,. The act has punished every corrupt official, businessman, agents and intermediaries equally without any class discrimination, he added.
Acknowledging the challenges associated with the move, the Minister urged the people to extend full cooperation to the government and banking system.
PM displayed courage on scrapping currency notes: Sat Sharma
Commenting on the Prime Minister’s decision BJP State president Sat Sharma (CA) said that Modi has once again displayed courage of taking bold decision aimed at fighting corruption, black money, terrorism & counterfeit currency by scrapping Rs 500 & Rs 1000 notes in the country. This is a historic step and common people across the country are appreciating the same.
Sharma while addressing media persons at Trikuta Nagar office,  said that the PM really deserve appreciation and the State unit of the party congratulate him for his firm resolve to root out black money and that only a decisive PM could have taken such a decision.
“After the decision of conducting surgical strikes on launching pads of terrorists across LoC, Narendra Modi has once again proved that he is willing to go to any extent for the sake of national interest”, said Sat Sharma and added that nothing can hold him back when it comes to taking crucial decisions affecting the pride of the nation and the interests of the common citizens.
BJP State vice-president Parmod Kapahi, State treasurer Chander Mohan Gupta, State spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, additional treasurer Arvind Gupta and Library Department In charge K.B. Mohtra were also present in the press conference.
With one swift and unprecedented step of demonetarizing high dimension currency notes , Modi Government had finished the black money from the face of the economy of the country and is major step to make India corruption free.  State Bhartiya Janata Party chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi said that with just one well thought and well planned move Modi Government has changed the economy of the nation .
Sethi further said that Rambaan fired by Prime Minister will also finish the nexus of fake currency with militancy and separatists.  The money being used massively in Kashmir valley by fake currency and Benami transactions will cease to exist. Such money which is used against national interest will not be in position to get re-circulated. This may help to restore lasting peace, he added.
Sethi further noted that surpass and matching undisclosed money will now be available with Government for use of public utility. He said that the amount of money which will be now available with Government will be huge and the nation will be on the path of unprecedented growth and progress.
Highly appreciating  Prime Minister Modi’s  decision to take Rs500/- and Rs.1000/-  currency notes out of circulation, president of  National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today  termed  it  as historical decision since independence.
Reacting on the decision Shastri said this masterly stroke has taken the ground off from the feet of black marketers, terrorists and fraudsters. “This very bold move should have taken since 15 years before. Political pressure has always prevented it earlier but PM has fulfilled one more election promise to people of India”-Shastri added.
Shastri urged the Prime Minister to take this endeavor forward by curbing   illegal money laundering from offshore agencies and banks. The need of the hour is to recover black money deposited in foreign banks by those elements who have so far enjoyed State or political patronage.
While appreciating the decision of Prime Minister of banning the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency, BJP MLC Vibodh Gupta said that this is a landmark and most transformational step in the Indian history. This will go a long way in checking and eradicating the menace of corruption and terrorism. Such a bold decision by a visionary leader like PM will certainly transform our country into the most developed country of the world, he added.
He further said that this will make our country strong and more and more developmental works will be possible, as now corruption will surely become a thing of the past. This step has created a wave of happiness among the poor and marginalized and those who are sitting on black and dirty money are scared, he added.
CII complimented Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for taking the crucial decision of terminating high denomination notes. Demonetization of Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes is a major assault on black money, fake currency and corruption. In his televised address to the nation, Modi declared people holding notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 can deposit the same in their bank and post offices accounts from 10 November till 30 December.
He also announced that new notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 will be introduced. In addition, there will be no change in any other form of currency exchange be it cheque, DD, payment via credit or debit cards etc.
As the Government of India has been fighting the menace of black money and corruption ever since it assumed power two years ago, he appealed people to aid government in its fight against black money and fake currency.
Due to this step, the black money will cease to exist, inflation will come down as the un-accounted money that influenced the market will now be invalid. Genuine businesses and organized sectors will be benefitted, Government will be richer as tax income will increase, therefore better life for common people as there will be no corruption and black money.

Former Minister and State Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, Thakur Randhir Singh congratulated the  Prime Minister Narendra Modi for surgical strike against black money by withdrawing currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 denomination which is major assault on black money, fake currency and corruption.
Singh in a statement issued here today said this is a dramatic move aimed at stamping out corruption and draining illicit cash from the economy. While terming it a very bold decision on currency which was most needed for India where only 20%  people holding wealth beyond their means which includes businessmen and politicians particularly in Jammu and Kashmir who have polluted the political atmosphere in the State which was declared by a social NGO the most corrupt State in the country where politicians have amassed wealth beyond their means in shortest period of holding the office by constructing  big houses in different places and spending black money in various projects in the State as well as outside the State in benami transactions and land grabbing and providing medical , engineering seats and jobs  to their children by ignoring the merits of deserving candidates for the last 70 years .
Ricky Dalotra general secretary Youth Congress Jammu Poonch Lok Sabha has strongly condemned the Modi Government for banning Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
Describing demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes as a welcome step which can boost the economy and eradicate corruption, black money, BJP senior vice president Yudhvir Sethi termed yet another major surgical strike of PM Modi.
In a statement issued here today he said PM has given a big jolt to the Hawala operators, fake currency operators, corrupt elements and black money hoarders and entire nation has supported this bold decision which will stabilize the economy further.

In a statement issued here today he said at one side Government has banned Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency and issued Rs. 2000 note and nothing is going to change with that. Ricky Dalotra said that this is only a publicity stunt by the BJP Government to gain more votes in Punjab and UP elections so they can take over the whole country under them. But this publicity stunt is not going to work as it will not bring down the corruption, it will encourage the same more.
He said with this decision the people will suffer more.
