People protest against doctor as injured dies due to no treatment

UDHAMPUR, Aug 28: After an elderly man, who was critically wounded in a road accident, succumbed   to his injuries allegedly because of no timely treatment at PHC Ghari, locals held a strong protest demonstration demanding suspension of the erring doctor.
The old man, identified as Brahm  Dayal (66), son of  Sunder Dass of Ghari, Rehambal,  was hit by a Maruti car, which was parked on the roadside near Shiv Temple Ghari and suddenly started moving backward .  The victim was walking on the roadside and sustained critical injuries after being hit by car.
He was rushed to PHC Ghari but no doctor as well as ambulance were  available there. After some time, the injured was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur in a private vehicle. However, by the team, the injured could  be brought to  DH Udhampur, he succumbed to his injuries.
Holding the absentee doctor responsible for death of  the old man,  relatives and neighbours of the deceased held a strong protest demonstration. They were demanding immediate suspension of the doctor and further action against him.
The protesting people could be pacified only after CMO Udhampur Chander Parkash reached the spot and assured necessary action against the doctor.
