POONCH, July 8: The people from Chandimarh area of Surankote Sub Division, held strong protest and blocked Mughal Road for about two hours today.
Reports said the villagers of the area led by local Congress leader Mushtaq Ahmed Manhas came out on the road at Chandimarh and started protest demonstration against the State Government. They were protesting against the poor water and power supply besides shortage of ration and poor Health care facilities at local Health Centre.
The movement of vehicles came to grinding halt on this busy road with the public protest. Later, SHO Surankote along with his team arrived there and assured the people to take up the matter with the concerned authorities. The road was then cleared after two hours.
