Pensioners accuse State Govt of being insensitive towards them

JAMMU, Apr 16: Jammu and Kashmir State Pensioners Association has strongly criticized the State Government for its alleged insensitive and callous approach towards the genuine issues of general public, particularly pensioners.
Addressing a press conference, here today, the Association general secretary Madan Lal Abrol drew attention towards the pensioners’ long pending demands, which include release of two due DA installments, enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300/ to Rs 3000 per month and grant of interim relief at  the rate of 30 percent of basic pension.
He lamented that because of price rise, the common people were finding it too difficult to live a normal life while public services like Education, Health, ration supply, Transportation, Electricity were costly and faulty.
Yash Paul Sansom. general secretary of J&K General Category Welfare Forum, who was also present in the press conference,  lambasted the Government for ignoring every section of society, particularly working middle class and pensioners.
Jagdish Dogra, veteran trade union leader and retired ZEPO, urged the State and Central Governments to take strong action against Pakistan to make possible the safe return of Kulbhusan Yadav. He also condemned the humiliation meted out to CRPF Jawans by the stone pelters in Kashmir valley and demanded stern action against these anti-national elements.
Others, who were present in the press conference, included Bhushan Pargal, Ashok Kumar, S Harbans Singh, Mohd. Shafi, Puran Chand Khajuria, Des Raj Sharma and Ram Dass Bhagat.
