JAMMU, July 11: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has alleged that Power Development Department was miserably failed to implement Ease of Doing Bussiness concept in the State.
In a meeting of the BBIA held under the President ship of Mr Lalit Mahajan in the presence of Suresh Mahajan, senior vice president, Ajay Langer general secretary, Vivek Singhal Secretary and Viraaj Malhotra Treasurer BBIA and other members.
During the course of discussion, members present in the meeting raised serious concern in respect of non implementation of `Ease of Doing Business’ concept by the Power Development Department resulting our State position at 22nd Rank amongst the Indian States in the Ease of Doing Business ranking.
It is worthwhile to mention here that with the sincere efforts of Shalindra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department and Chairman, Pollution Control Department our State have achieved 22nd position from 31st ranking of last year.
It is a matter of great concern that the adoption of `Ease of Doing concept by Power Development Department is pending since last two years in spite of the necessary directions by then Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister in the number of meetings held with Stake Holders .
It is worthwhile to mention here that the PDD not at all adhere to the guidelines of the Govt Order No 152-PDDof 2011 dated 28-04-2011 by the virtue of which a regular monthly meeting shall be held to clear the pending Power Connection cases. Further the file related to the Re-Delegation of Powers to the Designated Officials to minimize the delay in the sanction of Power connections not yet cleared by the Department in spite of the Assurances given by the Govt. from time to time.
The industrial sector is suffering very badly due to delay in the Power Sanction due to cumbersome procedures adopted by the P D D resulting unit holders have no option but to run from one department to other department of PDD for the clearance of files which includes M&RE-Division, STD Division, System & Operation Wing and Grid Construction Division where as it is the need of the hour to have online data with the M&RE Division in respect of the availability of the Power Load at the respective Grid/Receiving Stations.
