PDD employees protest for release of monthly salary

Excelsior Correspondent
UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: Demanding release of their pending salary for the last two months, employees of Transmission Line Maintenance Division Udhampur today protested outside the Division Office Udhampur.
The protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demands and also threatened to disrupt the power supply if their salary is not released within days.
While agitating strongly,  they rued  that the department has stopped the salary of all the employees working in this division from 1st October 2017 onwards for unknown reason due to which their personnel and professional life was  getting badly effected . The employees of this division have to work round the clock for fulfillment of their duties as this division has jurisdiction of power at 220/132/33KV level and for the restoration of the power system they require at least their monthly salary for moving to and fro, explained the agitating employees.
In this connection their delegation had approached the higher officer, including Deputy Commissioner Udhampur for redressal of their issue but nothing has been done so far and this has forced employees to adopt the path of agitation, they added
The protesting employees appealed the Power Minister and Principal Secretary Power to personally intervene into the matter and do the needful. “Otherwise this agitation shall continue and if within few days, our salaries are not released, there shall be complete interruption of power supply in Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar district, they warned.
