PCC cell asks Govt to clear stand on transit camps

JAMMU, May 29: PCC Migrant Cell in its meeting held under the presidentship of its vice chairman M N Pandita has taken serious note of the Chief Minster’s statement that migrants will be settled in transit camps.
Mr Pandita sought a clarification from the Government that how many camps they are going to establish for migrants and how for this practice will last.
During the migration they were first put in tents, then ORTS and then TRTs and now one more idea is being floated to put them in transit camps in Valley.
He also sought a clarification from BJP which is coalition partner in the State and had made a commitment to the nation that migrants will be settled in satellite townships in Valley. Twenty seven years have passed in the exile and now it indicates that the government is not serious towards rehabilitation of migrants.
He demanded permanent settlement of migrants. Convener of the Cell Gh. Qadir Bhat and co-convener Shadi Lal Pandita while addressing the meeting said that PCC Migrant Cell rejects transit camps and demands settlement in satellite township.
