One killed, one injured as car plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Jan 23: A driver was killed, while his co-passenger received injuries when the Bolero camper car they were travelling in, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Gangroo area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramsoo police station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK19-3777, was on its way to Khari from Ramsoo, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into 300 feet deep gorge near Gangroo.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals, rescued the injured persons.
Both the injured persons were shifted to Ramsoo hospital, from where they were later referred to District Hospital. They were later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment, but the driver of the vehicle identified as Bahar Ahmed, son of Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Khari succumbed to his injuries near Udhampur.
The injured lady has been identified as Gulzar begum, wife of Mohammad Iqbal of Chaknarwa Banihal.
A case in this regard has been registered at Ramsoo police station and investigation started.
