One killed, 4 injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, June 28: A 13-year-old boy was killed while four other persons were injured in four separate road mishaps in outskirts of this winter capital of the State.
According to a police spokesman, a boy identified as Mohd Ashraf (13) son of Saif Din, a resident of Phallian Mandaal was crushed to death by an unknown mini-truck on Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway at Domana near Army Gate.
He said that the mishap occurred today at about 3 am when the deceased boy and his family along with their cattle were migrating from Phallian Mandaal to Purkhoo.
“After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the spokesman said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Domana and investigations were underway.
At Bandrali in Bishnah area, two youth were injured today in the collision of two bikes. The injured youth identified as Jaswinder Singh (26) son of Jarnail Singh of Rakh Labana (Samba) and Ramesh (25) son of Kuldeep Singh of Akhnoor, were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu for treatment.
A pedestrian identified as Ravinder Kumar (50) son of Sarwan Dass, resident of Subhash Nagar, was hit and injured by a car near his residence. Similarly, another pedestrian identified as Shadi Lal (58) son of Saroop Nath, a resident of Purkhoo, was hit and injured by a scooter at Vikram Chowk. Both the injured were shifted to GMC&H for treatment.
