Omar says Air India has blocked him on Twitter

SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the national carrier Air India has blocked him on micro-blogging site Twitter.

“Look what I found, quite by chance. I’ve been blocked by @airindiain,” Mr Abdullah, who is one of India’s most Twitter-savvy politicians with 1.68 million followers, tweeted.

Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of main opposition National Conference (NC) in the state, had also added a screenshot along with the tweet.

However, Mr Abdullah’s tweet did not reveal anything as to why he thought he had been blocked by the Air India.

In December 2015, Mr Abdullah had questioned the national carrier’s decision to serve vegetarian meals on short-duration flights.

Meanwhile, Twitterites took a jibe at Air India for blocking the former Chief Minister of J&K on Twitter.

“Without so much as a ‘final calls before door close warning! The tragedy of it all,” tweeted one Rahul Bose.

“@abdullah_omar @airindiain they must have found out you flew with their competitors far too regularly,” another tweet said. (AGENCIES)
