Omar prays for Army martyrs, expresses concern over attack in Shopian

SRINAGAR: Describing the death of three soldiers and injuries to five others in militant ambush in Shopian in south Kashmir as tragic, former chief minister Omar Abdullah today said the situation is deeply worrying in the Valley.

Three soldiers, including a resident of south Kashmir, were killed and five others, including a Lt Colonel and a Major, were injured in a militant  ambush in the wee hours. A woman also lost her life after she was hit by a stray bullet during the encounter.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the working president of the main Opposition party in the state National Conference said, ”Tragic news & deeply worrying situation in the valley. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.” (AGENCIES)
