NPSU demands reduction in passenger fare

JAMMU, Jan 29: State president of National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) Thakur Virender Singh has demanded immediate reduction in passenger transport fare and staged a protest demonstration on University campus here today.
The students also burnt the effigy of Administration and raised slogans in support of their demand. Mr Virender said that the State Administration has failed to revise the passenger fare and goods carriers’ freight charges in accordance with the steep fall in the global oil prices. He alleged that Govt was giving undue benefit to a section and depriving general public.
He pointed out that the student fraternity is the worst sufferers as the excess fare is direct burden on them. He said NPSU shall submit the memorandum to the RTO Jammu urging him to slash the passenger fare without delay so that common masses including the students are liberated from the burden of hefty fares.
Prominent among others included Sanjeev Singh, Rahul Sharma, Lovely Singh, Rupesh Singh, Shubam Jasrotia, Nitin, Sahil, Arun and Vikram.
