JAMMU, July 23: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has said that  wrong policies being pursued by the insensitive State Government have caused enormous sufferings to the people especially in remote, hilly and border areas of the State.
While addressing a deputation of shopkeepers from Bus Stand who are facing livelihood crisis after the Govt’s decision to shift Bus Stand said that  instead of concentrating on governance and development, the Coalition Government seems having other priorities. Bhalla castigated PDP-BJP coalition for failing miserably, during the past one year of its mis-governance.
Describing PDP-BJP Government as a non-starter, he said that except for vigorously pursuing anti-youth, anti-people and anti-employee policies, the governance has been a distant dream during the past one year. Not only in the urban areas,  the impact of the Government is zero in rural pockets with infrastructural development and utility services remaining in shambles.
“Go beyond city peripheries, the woes of people will be reflective of the presence of Government”, he said adding that the condition in the cities remains worse. He said the PDP and BJP were accusing Congress Government of performance inertia but the fact remains that it has itself miserably failed on all fronts. There is no governance at all,” Bhalla maintained.
Central Government has miserably failed to restore peace in the Valley. Disappointed over statements of MPs and other politicians on the Kashmir situation,  Bhalla reminded the political class that J&K comprises of three regions, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh  and  any “deliberate attempt” to neglect Jammu would make situation more complex in the State. He argued that any instability in Kashmir has direct impact on tourists and pilgrims and economy of Jammu because an impression goes outside that unrest in the Kashmir valley means trouble in the entire J&K state.
Bhalla said that Govt must remember that Jammu is one of the major stakeholders in the State and if they continue to neglect it in this way, it may force the people of Jammu to think about the future course of action. Jammu, also suffered due to militancy and  had accommodated all sections of society, be it Kashmiri Pandits, Ladakhis, Kashmiri Muslims and refugees. It is the duty of the  Parliamentarians to convey to the world that Srinagar is not the entire J&K and three-four Separatist leaders are not the representatives of the people of J&K.
