NMC projects demands

JAMMU, June 10: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed to the Chief Minister to expedite the process of giving arrears of 7th Pay Commission in one instalment to all pensioners, below the age of 80 years.
Addressing NMC workers meet here, President of the NMC Subash Shastri said that this is the need of the hour as the prices of basic amenities are going up sharply and pensioners from 60-80 age groups have no source of income except their monthly pension.
He hoped that as a good will gesture, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti would direct the high ups of the Finance Department to take necessary step as soon as possible, so that these pensioners would get a sigh of relief and their faith on the State Government would remain intact.
Shastri also demanded enhancement of medical allowance for State pensioners on the analogy of Central Government pattern, amendment of SRO 520 to be extended for providing relief to the 61000 daily rated workers by exempting the production of middle pass qualification certificate payment of minimum wages at Rs 350 per day, total exemption of DA from Income Tax slab, issuance of regularizations orders of 180 daily rates workers of Rural Development Department and implementation of 7th Pay Commission benefits to the employees and pensioners/workers of public sector undertakings.
Among others present were Rajan Babu Khajuria, BS Jamwal, Darshan Bawa, Madan Lal, Suraj Parkash, Ram Singh, Paramjeet, Sudesh, Sunil, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh and Ramesh Sharma.
