NMC demands enhanced MA

JAMMU, July 8: Stressing  the need  for enhancing Medical Allowance for State pensioners on the analogy of Central Government pattern, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri, today urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti  to follow the suit so that pensioners are compensated to defray the day to day medical expenses till the demand of State employees and pensioners to enhance the same to Rs 3000 per month is met with.
Addressing a largely attended NMC workers meet here, Shastri further demanded that all tips of allowances recently decided by the  Union Cabinet with regards to 7th Pay Commission expert committee headed by Union Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa, should also be adopted and extended to the State Government employees and pensioners while being implemented by the State Government from April 1, 2018 as announced by the State Finance Minister’s on the floor of the house on January 11, 2017.
Expressing concern over the delay in issuance of the notification/SRO regarding  implementation  of the 7th Pay Commission  recommendations, Shastri said that the need of the hour is that the State Government should set the process in motions to avoid any further delay and the committee  concerned should be asked to accelerate  the process so as to avoid confusion if any arsing in the minds of likely beneficiaries.
As usual the demands of sixtyone thousand daily rated workers working the various departments of the State Government regarding regularization and their separate wage head have still remain unaddressed, Shastri added  that priority should be attached to these burning issues, not withstanding the fact that daily rated workers are the main pillars of all development fields.
