UDHAMPUR, Nov 30: Udhampur Police today arrested a narcotics smuggler from Jakhani and recovery 1.2 kg charas from his possession.
The seized consignment was being transported from Kashmir to Jammu.
According to SSP Udhampur, Anil Magotra, during frequent checking of vehicles on the National Highway near Jakhani, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur Deepak Jasrotia intercepted one passenger vehicle and subjected it to thorough search. During search of the vehicle, 1 kilo and 200 gram charas was recovered from the possession of one Shamas Din of Chaba in Ramban.
Police arrested the accused and also seized the consignment. A case in this connection has been registered under Section 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station, Udhampur.
