Naeem for starting nursery classes in more schools of Jammu city

JAMMU, Apr 23: The Minister for Education, Naeem Akthar today said that the Government would explore the possibility of starting nursery classes in ten schools of Jammu city to cover maximum number of disadvantaged children.
The Minister was interacting with the teachers and parents of tiny tots after inaugurating first of its kind Kinder Garden here at heritage Government Shri Ranbir Singh Higher Secondary School.
The School has dedicated a portion of the heritage building for the Nursery section with all facilities for the children of preschool age.
The admission in the Nursery is free for the children coming from BPL families, while others have to pay nominal monthly fee of Rs 50.
Terming the opening of the Nursery at the school as a new beginning, he said by this initiative the department can put the vast infrastructure and manpower to a varied use. “By adopting this convergence mode massive infrastructure and manpower in schools can be put to more fruitful use”, he added. He asked the school administration to become a trendsetter by making this historical institution a real hub of varied educational activities.
He hoped that the children who would step out after completing the pre-school from the this Kinder Garden will not be lacking in any manner from those who study in similar institutes run in private sector.
He called for involving fresh minds in the Kinder Garden and other activities, adding that this institution has to become the torchbearer for rest of schools of the region.
