Mustard seed futures fall on weak spot cues

NEW DELHI, Dec 15:  Mustard seed prices fell by Rs 15 to Rs 3,950 per quintal in futures trade today on offloading of positions by participants in line with subdued physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustard seed, contracts for most-active December slipped by Rs 15 or  0.38 per cent to Rs 3,950 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 41,140 lots.
Similarly, the contracts for January next year also eased by Rs 7 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 4,100 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 11,760 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators coupled with weak trend at the the spot markets, led to fall in in futures trade here. (PTI)
