UDHAMPUR, Mar 30: In connection with the `Murti Sthapna’ ceremony, a grand religious function was held at Raghunath Ji Temple at Chinar near Tikri in Udhampur.
The Programme was organized by Local Resident of Chinas where Dr. Karan Singh Chairman Trustee was chief guest while Ajat Shatru Singh Trustee, and, Retd. Major Gen. R S Jamwal Dharmarth Trust president were also present on the occasion.
Murti Sthapna function of ‘Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Sita’ (Dori-Tagotri) was held amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras and Shalokas by the Pandits. The function commenced with ‘Havan- Pooja’ A Langar (Bhandara) was also served to the devotees after the main function.
Eminent personality and a towering son of the soil Dr.Karan Singh Ji gives a credit to the people of Chinas village for having contributed in making the State of Jammu and Kashmir obeying the Royal orders of Dogra Maharajas. He also termed Village Chinas as Veer Bhummi
From here one can not only have the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi ji Bhawan located in Trikuta Hills in Katra but can also enjoy the natures best spread all around.
To add to the identity of this village Rattana Devi wife of late Sohan Singh, Capt. Retd. Arjun Singh and Balbir Singh have contributed financially as well as physically in constructing a marvelous Raghunath ji temple in this village.
Prominent persons and locals also participated in the function in large.
