Mughal Road being re-opened today

SRINAGAR, May 13: According to the Inspector General of Police Traffic Jagjit Kumar, Mughal Road will be thrown open for one-way movement of heavy vehicular traffic with proper regulations in avalanche prone spots from May 14.
The IGP said that Mughal Road Project Chief Engineer has conveyed feasibility of the road for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs).
He said that to ensure smooth regulation of traffic from Poonch to Shopian and vice versa, only one-way traffic plan has been formulated which will remain in effect till May 31.
According to the plan, HMVs (6 tyre trucks only) and Light Motor Vehicles will move from Poonch in Jammu region to Shopian in Kashmir from May 14 on alternate days only.
Similarly, traffic from Shopian to Poonch will be allowed from May 15 on alternate days.
