Motorized tricycles provided to five specially abled persons

JAMMU, Oct 22: Department of Social Welfare Jammu today provided motorized tricycles to five specially abled persons in a function held here.
The specially modified motorized tricycles were provided to the beneficiaries under the scheme of State Rehabilitation Council.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma handed over the keys to the beneficiaries including four males and one female.
Divisional Commissioner said that the Government schemes are aimed to empower the specially abled persons and the motorized tricycles will help the specially abled to commute freely without the help of others. He advised the beneficiaries to wear helmet and observe the traffic rules.
He further said that efforts are afoot to provide proper opportunities and facilities to the specially abled persons so that they can realize their dreams and aspirations.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar asked the DSWO to create awareness among the general masses about the benefits of various schemes and programmes of the department.
Director Social Welfare Jammu Bharat Bushan, District Social Welfare Officer Jammu Ranbireshwar Singh Jamwal and other staff and officials of Department of Social Welfare were also present on the occasion.
