BJP convenes Mandal level meetings with party activists

KATHUA, Mar 19: While highlighting the five years remarkable performance of Narendra Modi Government at Centre, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that India has attained a unique position in world and this all was possible with the strenuous efforts of Prime Minister.
Addressing Mandal level meetings with BJP activists in Kathua and Basohli districts today, Dr Jitendra Singh said that nation has touched heights in every field during the last five years of Modi Government and he paid special attention for the development of the backward states like Jammu and Kashmir as well as North Eastern states.
He said for the development of backward and terror ravaged State of J&K, Modi Government provided liberal Central assistance and even announced that coffers are open for the development of this State.
Dr Jitendra Singh who convened series of Mandal level meetings in Kandi Mandal of Billawar Assembly Segment, Mahanpur Mandal of Basohli Assembly Segment, Lakhanpur Mandal of Kathua Constituency and office bearers meeting of District Kathua today threadbare discussed the strategy for campaigning in ensuing Lok Sabha elections in his Kathua, Udhampur and Doda Constituency. During the meetings among other things the booth management, schedule of different rallies besides the VIP rallies including those to be addressed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and filling up of nomination papers by the candidate etc were also discussed.
The Union Minister, while highlighting the achievements of last five years said he sincerely worked for the betterment of the people of his Constituency and it was with his efforts that many dream changing projects and schemes which were abandoned for decades together by previous rulers were taken up in hand by Modi Government as its first preference. He said the people of the Constituency have a right to ask the leaders of the opposition parties who will come to seek vote for their parties that why Shahpur Kandi Project and Ujh Birage were shelved by them and was not the Kerrian -Gandyal bridge any priority for them which joined over 25 secluded villages in Ravi island with Kathua district.
Dr Jitendra Singh said it is a pity that the previous rulers on the basis of vote bank politics gave reservation to the people living along LoC and ignored their counterparts living on International Border (IB) because the ministers of previous regimes happen to belong to LoC area. This gross discrimination continued for decades together and our Government took a bold initiative to end this discrimination by granting four percent reservations to IB people at par with LoC people.
Besides, granting of compensation to PoJK refugees, sanctioning of compensation to West Pak refugees, granting of relief to Jammu refugees at par with Kashmiri migrants, doubling the honorarium of VDCs , construction of AIIMS, IIT, medical colleges, Engineering College in Kathua, IIM, sanctioning of Biotech Park at Kathua, renovation of Dreamland Park at Kathua, sanction of Seed Processing Plant for Kathua, River Conservation Project for Devika in Udhampur, Radio Station for Udhampur, Weather Forecasting Station at Sanji Chatt in Katra, Research Institute at Bhadarwah in Doda district, Chatergala tunnel, construction of eight bridges on various rivers in Kathua district etc are the hall mark of the development during the last five years.
In addition to this, he said 400 toilet complexes have been constructed in the border belt by his personnel efforts and work on community and individual bunkers is also on in border belt.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that his endavour to join the politics was to serve my people. With this motive in mind, he worked overtime to get the new projects sanctioned for the people of this region who over the years remained backward due to the discriminatory policies of the previous rulers.
He without naming any one took a dig at those leaders of opposition parties who are trying to exploit the sentiments of the people. He said what the representatives of these parties have done for the region when they were ministers at Centre or in the State. He said the people should not pay any heed to them but to strengthen hands of Modi for their better future and strong India.
Dr Jatindra Singh also opened election office at Lakhanpur.
The district office bearers meetings among others were addressed by former Minister, Rajiv Jasrotia, BJP general secretary, Harinder Gupta, district president, Prem Nath Dogra, district secretary, Ashanand, organising secretary, Inderjit, Janak Bharti, Gopaal Mahajan, Bharat Sharma of Yuva Morcha, Mahanpur Mandal president, Man Singh, Jaswinder Singh of Yuwa Morcha, Mahila Morcha district president, Inder Lekha, Rajesh Mehta of Yuwa Morcha, Jasw-inder Singh, Sonu Kumar besides panches and Sarpanches.
