Minorities pin high hopes on Judiciary: Wazir

JAMMU, Jan 11: Chairman,  Sikh United Front (SUF), Sudershan Singh Wazir today said that Indian Judiciary is messiah of victims and downtrodden  and fresh directive of the Apex Court on reinvestigation of 186 anti-Sikh riots cases has given a new hope to the minority community in the country.
Addressing a press conference here today Wazir complimented the  Supreme Court of India for ordering a reinvestigation into 186 cases of Sikh massacre of 1984 by SIT, headed by a retired judge of the High Court.
While welcoming the judgment of Supreme Court he said that whenever the dark clouds of anarchy hover over the democratic horizon of India, the  Supreme Court always comes to the rescue of the victims, poor, the downtrodden and those who have no hope left in the system. This judgment has reaffirmed the faith of common man in the judicial system of the country.
Wazir demanded a re-trial into the Sikh massacre of 1984 which was perpetrated at Talwara in district Reasi, in which 14 men, women and children were brutally killed.  He called upon the State Government to come clean on the issue and in the interest of justice must approach the appropriate court for a retrial. He said SUF will explore the legal options to get justice for the massacred victims.
Wazir also demanded the publication of the Ansari Commission report , which is gathering dust in the confines of the Government.
Dayal Singh Wazir, president Shiromani Akali Dal, J&K,  Surinder Singh Kala, Chairman J&K Motor Transport Companies Association and Mohinder Singh, president SYAD  also spoke on the occasion.
Raja Singh and Darbinder Singh, members DGPC Jammu, Paramjit Singh (AISSF), Kultar Singh, Kulwant Singh,  Manmohan Singh (Chairman Singh Sabha, GoI Gujaral),  Ravinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh (Gaddi Gadd),  Kuldip Singh Malik, Surjeet Singh Kuku, president Sikh Naujawan Sabha were also present.
