Mega health mela held

JAMMU, Apr 16: SMVD Narayana Super Speciality Hospital in association with Indian Dental Association and Rotary Club Jammu Tawi organized a mega health mela today at Rotary Club Gandhi Nagar here.
The camp was inaugurated by Kavinder Gupta, Speaker Legislative Assembly in the presence of Dr (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH, BR Chandan, President Rotary Club Jammu Tawi, Dr Rajiv Mengi, IDA President, SC Rekhi from Retd Gazetted Officers Forum and Kuldeep Singh, President Vishwakarma Welfare Association Digiana.
While speaking, Kavinder Gupta said that these kinds of activities go a long way. “We expect more activities in coming days”, he added.
Dr (Brig) MM Harjai briefed about the achievements of the hospital in past one year and also shared the future plans of organ transplant and PET scan in coming days.
Jitendar Singh from Rotary Club and Dr Rajiv Mengi assured all support in coming events.
More than 300 patients from Jammu and surrounding areas attended the camp and got benefited.
Dr Ujjaval Mehrotra, Interventional Cardiologist, Dr Manoj Gupta, GI-Surgery, Dr Rajan Gupta, Urologist, Dr Sumit Saraswat, General Medicine, Dr Ram Kinkar Jha, Orthopaedics, Dr JP Singh, Neurosurgery, Dr Pooja Gupta, Neurologist, Dr Hitesh Gupta, Nephrologist, Dr Priti Gupta, Paediatrics and Dr Jagmohan Singh, Oncology provided consultation to the needy.
On the occasion, IDA, Jammu branch conducted a dental check-up and awareness camp. Dr Gautam Sharma, Former President IDA and Dental Surgeon, University of Jammu, collaborated with SMVDNSH for organizing this dental camp.
A team of dentists led by Dr Rajiv Mengi, President IDA examined the visitors. A team of dentists comprising Dr Anuj Arora, Dr Noopur Manhas, Dr Niharika Gupta, Dr Hemani, Dr Rupali, Dr Niharika Sharma and Dr Rashmi Gupta examined and counseled the visitors about oral hygiene and its maintenance.
The camp was supported by mobile screening units for breast cancer and general screening along with ECG, lab investigation and basic vital statistics.
